A notice from City of York Council Highways Maintenance Services

08/09/2022

Please be advised that City of York Council will be carrying out road maintenance works at Wetherby Road commencing on Friday 11th November 2022 for a period of 5 working days, weather permitting.

The site extents are shown on the plan shown, the light pink indicates the area closed off for the construction works, the red indicates areas of patching. The works will be carried out between 7.00 pm and 5.00 am. Please note that all noisy work within the village will be finished by midnight.

In order to carry out the work safely, the use of a full road closure will be necessary whilst works are taking place. Traffic must adhere to the safety and traffic management rules of the site. This is to ensure that adequate health and safety is maintained for both local residents and the contractor.

We understand that this will cause some inconvenience during the works, and as such site staff will be on hand to advise and assist all road users (including cyclists and pedestrians) about any access restrictions once the works are ongoing. Should you have any particular requirements, please let the Highways Maintenance Services team know by emailing Abbey.Walker@wsp.com.

All on-street parking will be suspended during the hours of the works for the full duration, but specific access requirements can be arranged by speaking to the site Traffic Management Operatives, who will coordinate with residents (and business requirements) around the ongoing work operations.

Emergency services will be permitted through the works in any situation.

As with any construction work, there is likely to be a certain amount of disruption and inconvenience to the public. However, the contractor will try to keep any disruption to a minimum. Your co-operation throughout the duration of the works would be much appreciated.

Highways Maintenance Services will be monitoring the works on site, but should you wish to discuss this work in further detail, please do not hesitate to contact them by email to Abbey.Walker@wsp.com or by telephone on 02031 165993.
