Further to the installation of the playground in Knapton during 2022, we are delighted to have received a generous donation from former Parish Councillor John Flynn from Barratt Developments PLC in order to purchase two benches.
The benches are made from 100% recycled plastic and are therefore durable, wipe clean, and low maintenance. Now in situ, they are a welcome addition to the playground, which has become a popular meeting place for families in the village, and those from neighbouring areas using the bridleway/cycle path.

We are delighted to announce that the new Knapton Play Area is now open for all to enjoy!
This facility has been funded by the Parish Council aided by a grant from City Of York Council, a Rural West Ward grant, and a generous donation from Barratt Developments PLC.
We are confident that it will prove to be a real asset to the village and will be well used by residents and visitors.
Please note, the recreation field in Knapton remains a No Dog field and we politely ask visitors to the park to make use of the litter bin provided.
