It is with sadness that the Yorkshire Local Councils Associations have learned of the death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and we extend heartfelt condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and members of the Royal Family.
The Neighbourhood Plan
The Parish Council has responded to a significant number of planning applications this year, the majority being for house extensions of various kinds.
It is pleasing to note that CYC Planning Officers are taking full account of our Neighbourhood Plan in arriving at decisions.
Copies of the Plan were distributed to all households in the Parish at the time of its referendum in 2018. If you haven’t got a copy you can find it here on the website, or for a hard copy, contact Cllr. Jane Wright on 01904 738285.
A planning application for 60 houses was submitted for the land known as Wheatlands, adjacent to the Trenchard Rd. area of the Parish.
The Parish Council responded with a robust and detailed objection to this application. We are pleased that, subsequently, CYC Planners have notified the applicants that they propose to recommend its refusal. Should the applicants decide to appeal, be assured that the Parish Council will rigorously oppose any development on this Green Belt land.
The UK government have recently published a consultation on proposed changes to the planning regulations; the Parish Council are studying these proposals in depth and will respond to the consultation
