Following the Parish Council meeting on Monday 10th January, our responses along with those of others can now be found on the City of York Council Website.
A planning application has now been submitted for the proposed development of 21 houses on land off Middlewood Close, Rufforth, full details of which can be found on the City of York Council website.
The application will be debated at the Parish Council meeting on Monday 10th January. As usual, this will be held in the Institute at 7:30 pm.
Members of the public are, as always welcome, although in the interests of everybody’s safety we would ask you to take a lateral flow test before attending. If you wish to speak on the planning application please register with the Clerk online or by telephone on 01904 738751 in advance.
We are aware that a number of residents have received a communication with regard to a potential housing development on land at the end of Middlewood Close, Rufforth. It is important to note that this is a pre-planning consultation and NO formal planning application has been submitted as yet. When and if such an application is submitted the Parish Council will decide its response at a meeting open to the public in the normal manner.
The proposed site is allocated for housing in the emerging York Local plan and was also allocated in our original submission version of the Neighbourhood Plan, although removed by the Examiner prior to referendum on a technicality that allocations could not be made until the York local plan had defined green belt boundaries.
We do have some serious concerns with the current proposals as we understand them and have written to the developers detailing those concerns and the matter will be an agenda item at the next Parish Council meeting on Dec 6th at 7:30pm in Rufforth Village Institute.
