The Parish Council are pleased to announce the installation of three benches along the path from Rufforth to Knapton where walkers and cyclists can rest their bones.
Two are along the straight section from Wetherby Road towards the gun club with views towards the new, under construction allotments, and a third near the top of the hill which looks back towards Rufforth. Here it is planned to provide a more accessible path in the spring, so if you’re using it please be careful climbing the bank, it is best approached from the rear.
The benches have kindly been funded by donations from local residents and we hope that you will enjoy them.
They are manufactured from recycled plastics by the organisation ‘Realise Futures’, whose primary aim is to improve and promote the economic and social wellbeing of those who are disadvantaged and/or disabled and provide professional and tailored opportunities that support people to realise their potential.
They are one of the largest social enterprises in the East of England, employing around 290 people, 41% of whom have a disability. Success, for them, is measured by the positive impact on the lives of those they support and progress, as well as the profit they generate.
Should anyone wish to sponsor another bench please contact the clerk to the parish council at firstname.lastname@example.org.
